Utah man to serve in law enforcement continuing family legacy

SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – The brother of a fallen Utah police officer will carry on a family legacy by choosing to protect and serve. 

Braydon Brotherson just graduated from the police academy and will be serving as a correctional officer. Braydon is following in the footsteps of his older brother, Cody Brotherson, a West Valley City Police Department officer who as killed in the line of duty.


In November 2016, Cody was hit and killed by a suspect’s vehicle as he attempted to deploy spikes during a police pursuit.

“Seeing him [Braydon] wearing the uniform makes our hearts swell with pride,” said West Valley City Police Department in a Facebook post.

 

“Please help us send some love and support to the Brotherson family. We know that this moment must be bittersweet. This family has given more than anyone could ever ask and yet they continue to serve,” said WVCPD.
