The Utah Jazz participated in numerous activities on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, celebrating and honoring Dr. King’s lasting contributions and legacy.
The festivities included a workshop and basketball clinic at Vivint Smart Home Arena from Calvary Baptist Church and Salt Lake County Youth Government.
The workshop focused on Dr. King’s six principles of non-violence outlined in his first book, “Stride Toward Freedom.”
People who took part in the event will go to Monday night’s game between the Utah Jazz and Portland Trailblazers.
The Jazz and players from across the NBA will be wearing special MLK shooting shirts.
