SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) Utah Jazz is doing its part to brighten the holidays for thousands of local children and families.

Under the NBA’s annual Season of Giving initiative, the Utah Jazz and Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment hosted a charity toy drive Monday.

The Jazz asked fans to help give back to those in need by donating new, unwrapped toys for children at Vivint Smart Home Arena ahead of the game against the Indiana Pacers.

Those who donated were eligible to receive a pair of tickets or vouchers for purchases at the Utah Jazz Team Store.

The toys will be donated to the Stella H. Oaks Foundation whose mission provide hope to single mothers and their children by lifting them out of poverty through education.

The Jazz & Larry H. Miller Group of Companies kicked off the holiday season by delivering 1,200 winter jackets to Wasatch Front schools last week as part of the organization’s annual Coats for Kids program. Employees also served more than 3,000 meals to those in need for the annual “We Care, We Share” Thanksgiving dinner.

Other upcoming “Season of Giving” events include 12 Days of Giving by the Jazz Dancers through a variety of service projects; annual Bear Hugs for Kids shopping sprees with underprivileged youth and the Jazz mascot; a Jazz player hosted holiday movie event at the Gateway Megaplex theatres; and the free community Christmas Carole Sing-Along on Dec. 17 at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
