MURRAY, Utah (NEWS4utah) – A Utah County Sheriff’s Deputy was seriously injured after a crash while riding his motorcycle on I-215 Saturday morning in Murray.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Lawrence Hopper confirmed the crash happened on eastbound I-215 near 1300 West at about 9:30 a.m.
The deputy was helping with traffic for a charity bike ride as it headed out from Taylorsville. He was helping the bikers get onto the 215 freeway then attempted to catch up to the group. He lost control of his bike and hit the barrier on the left side of the road.
No one else was involved in the crash. The deputy was transported to the hospital with a possible broken arm and other minor injuries.
The name of the deputy has not been released.
