UTA technicians face off in mechanical “rodeo”

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – There was a rodeo today in Salt Lake City, but not the one you might be thinking of.

Crews from six separate maintenance division took part in UTA’s Technician Rodeo on Saturday. The crews, made up of 2 to 3 people each, took part in a maintenance competition for a chance to go to a national competition.

Each crew had an allotted time limit to diagnose and repair different mechanical issues such as low power and excessive smoke.

The technicians take part make up part of UTA’s maintenance crew that service the busses on a daily basis.
