AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- The Unified Police Department has joined the American Fork Police Department in the search for Paul Swenson.

Last week, the family announced they “have shifted from daily searches out of Salt Lake City to a nationwide scope as investigators continue to follow various leads,” but police say they have not scaled back their search.

Leads have been coming in at different locations around the Wasatch Front, many of them in UPD’s jurisdiction. As a result, detectives from UPD have been assigned to the case.

Det. Ken Hansen told ABC4, “we believe some are credible but we wont know until we locate him.”

Swenson was last seen on Thursday, July 27th. His BMW was found abandoned near Parkview Elementary School in Salt Lake Friday morning. Inside the car were strange items, including a cell phone and a bag of clothing not belonging to Swenson, police said.

The mystery of his disappearance has the interest of thousands. Several Facebook groups have popped up discussing his whereabouts and theories behind his disappearance.

If you see Paul, call police.
