SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Students, faculty members and alumni of the University of Utah’s Entertainment Arts & Engineering Department spent the weekend creating video games as part of the 2019 Global Game Jam.
Teams had 48 hours to conceptualize, code and program the games for the international competition.
Assistant Professor Ashley Brown says it’s a fun way for game designers to remember why they got into the industry in the first place.
“So we all love making games and make them all day, every day,” Prof. Brown told ABC4 News. “Sometimes you can burn out and it’s not such a creative process so the Global Game Jam allows us to spend 48 hours literally doing nothing else besides making games and being creative and having fun with each other.”
