University of Utah Police investigating a report of a sexual assault on campus

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – The University of Utah Police are investigating a reported sexual assault on campus Monday night, police say.

An alert sent out by the university states the assault occurred west of the Marriott Library around 10:30 p.m. Monday night.

University Police say they responded to the report just after midnight on Monday.

Officials at the school say they have increased patrols around campus and additional resources for escorts are being made available.

No details of the alleged assailant are available at this time, police say. The investigation is ongoing.
