SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Icy road conditions around northern Utah Monday morning slowed the commute and caused several issues for drivers.
Utah Highway Patrol reported Monday morning that over the last 24 hours they had received reports of 231 crashes due to weather.
Sunday evening, a car crashed into a utility pole on 4500 S. in Holladay, knocking out power to hundreds of customers. As of early Monday morning, the power to that area had not yet been restored.
Drivers also experienced slowdowns from Lehi to Layton, and especially dangerous conditions in the canyon areas.
UHP reminds drivers to be cautious and drive 10 to 15 miles per hour below posted speed limits to avoid accidents.
