LEHI, Utah (ABC 4 News) – State officials are warning drivers to slow down along I-15 near Lehi — an area known as the Tech Corridor that will be under construction until 2020.
Construction is underway to widen a stretch of I-15 from Lehi Main Street to Timpanogos Highway.
“The speed limit, right now, is 60 miles per hour — people just aren’t obeying it,” said John Gleason with Utah Department of Transportation.
“Every day we’re seeing people that are far exceeding that speed limit, going 70, 75, even higher,” added Gleason. “And that, quite frankly, could be dangerous.”
“It’s only a matter of time before we do have a terrible accident as a result of people speeding,” said Gleason.
