Two dead after elderly wrong-way driver hits vehicle head-on

DAVIS COUNTY (News4Utah)- Two people are dead after a head-on crash on Legacy Parkway Wednesday.

Troopers say an elderly man drove southbound in the northbound lanes and crashed head-on with another vehicle.  

Officials said it happened around 1:30 p.m. just before Glover Lane.

The man, 91, was driving alone, officials said. There were two people inside the car he hit.

The elderly man and the passenger in the other vehicle were pronounced dead later that evening.

They have been identified as 91-year-old Donald R. Eggington of Bountiful and 36-year-old Epemesa Aetonu from Tafuna, Samoa.

The driver of the other car was seriously injured, but is expected to survive.
