Two children critically injured, one flown to hospital after crash in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4 News) – Two children were critically injured and one was flown to the hospital after a crash Sunday afternoon, officials said. 

Lt. Sanders with the West Jordan Police department said the incident happened at 4:10 p.m. on 5600 West and 7000 South in West Jordan. 

Police say a man driving northbound was turning left when he collided into another driver traveling southbound. They say the car traveling southbound crashed into a traffic pole after the collision. 

There were two children in the southbound vehicle aged eight and three years old respectively, according to authorities.

Two children sustained critical injuries and the 3-year-old was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital while the 8-year-old was transported by ambulance to the hospital, according to Lt. Sanders. 

Both male drivers only sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. 

Investigators are still working to find the cause of the crash.
