WASATCH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Two people are in custody after a narcotics team member busted them with 50 pounds of marijuana.
On Saturday a detective with the Wasatch Back Narcotics Enforcement Team pulled over a vehicle on US 40 for a traffic violation.
Officials say during the traffic stop a K-9 smelled illegal drugs and alerted the detective.
When searching the vehicle, authorities said the detective found 50 pounds of marijuana in the trunk.
Soon after, a search warrant was conducted on the driver’s Wasatch County home. Inside officials said they found more marijuana and a distributable amount of cocaine.
The driver and passenger, a man and a woman, were arrested and booked into the Wasatch County Jail on multiple felony drug-related offenses; their identities have not been released.
Officials say recently one of them was busted for nearly 150 pounds of pot during a stop in Heber City.
