MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC4 News) – Two brothers have been arrested and charged after two young girls came forward and told police they had been raped and sexually assaulted by them.
Charging documents state Avery Holiday Mitchell, 22 and Chad Mitchell, 33, were charged in Third District Court earlier this month with multiple felonies after two young girls came forward and told police about the incidents.
Charging documents state a 12-year-old girl reported the two men have touched her and another 13-year-old girl multiple times between November 2017 and November 2018. She said both of them would touch and squeeze their breasts both over and under her clothing.
The 13-year-old girl reported to police that in November 2018, while on a bean bag in another room, Avery Mitchell came into the room, pulled down her pants and raped her. That same girl said Chad Avery grabbed her breasts both over and under her shift on different occasions, according to documents.
During an interview with police, Avery Mitchell admitted to touching both girls inappropriately and raping the one girl. Documents do not indicate any interview comments with Chad Mitchell and police.
Both Avery and Chad Mitchell are being held in the Salt Lake County Jail on $200,000 bail each.
Avery Mitchell has been charged with first-degree felony rape of a child, and two counts first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child. Chad Avery has been charged with three counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
