Two arrested in undercover drug and firearm operation in Heber City

HEBER CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – Two people are behind bars after undercover detectives purchased drugs and a firearm from them in Heber City last week. 

Wasatch Back Narcotics Enforcement Team known as (BackNET) said they made arrangements to purchase a half pound of marijuana from Carlos Garcia, 20. Detectives has previously purchased large quantities of marijuana and butane hash oil from Garcia on three other occasions.

Garcia showed up to meet the detective, along with Jennifer Ganja, 19. They sold the detective $800 worth of marijuana and a hand gun for $200.

After completing the transaction Garcia left the area and was pulled over by Detectives.

During a search of the vehicle detective’s located a second handgun that Carlos had showed the undercover officer. Police located the money the detective had given him inside Ganja’s purse. 

Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Wasatch County Jail.

Garcia was booked  for distribution of a controlled substance, transaction of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person. Ganja was booked for distribution of controlled substance.
