Two arrested after gang shooting and chase, police say

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Two men were arrested after a shooting and police chase Thursday night.
 
Police say at about 10:15 p.m. the two suspects drove up to a park near 500 North Grant Street and opened fire on a group of people after asking what gang they were from.
 
Around 11:30 p.m. officers with the Metro Gang Unit spotted the suspects in a car.  Officers tell ABC4 Utah when they tried to pull them over, the suspects took off and lead them on a chase.
 
The chase started near California Avenue and 900 West and ended on 2100 South and Bangerter Highway.
 
One of the men got out of the car and ran away. He was arrested a short time later along with the other suspect.
 
Police think the two men, ages 18 and 16, are connected to Thursday morning’s armed robberies at two 7-Elevens in Salt Lake City.
