Troopers suspect impairment in fatal crash on SR-30

Local News

CACHE COUNTY (News4Utah) A West Haven man is dead after a single vehicle rollover crash on State Route 30 Thursday.
Utah Highway Patrol said a red Ford F150 was traveling westbound on SR-30 at a high rate of speed.

Just east of milepost 113, the truck left the roadway to right, the driver overcorrected to the left and rolled several times.

The driver was wearing a seat belt but was killed during the rollover.

Troopers said the driver later identified as Christian Flores, 23, stopped at a Chevron gas station in Garden City within the hour prior to the crash.

Flores was called in for reckless driving by another motorist.

There were no police units available to respond to the reckless driving incident due to a cattle truck rollover in Laketown Canyon. At some point the driver turned around to go westbound on SR-30, eventually crashing near milepost 113.

Investigators said alcohol impairment is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.
