SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Troopers caught a suspect driving under the influence (DUI) and traveling on the wrong way in Salt Lake City early Friday morning.
The suspect who was driving northbound in the southbound lanes near 3300 South on I-15 was stopped at about 2:25 a.m. The driver traveled the wrong way on both interstate 215 and I-15.
At 0225, Troopers we’re able to successfully intercept a wrong way DUI driver that was driving wrong way on both I-215 and I-15. The driver was stopped while NB in the SB lanes at about 3300 S on I-15 using an itervention technique.— Utah Highway Patrol (@UTHighwayPatrol) November 16, 2018
The Trooper disabled his patrol car while he was trying to stop the suspect and sustained minor injuries, according to officials.
The suspect was however not injured even though his car was damaged. He has since been arrested.
