Trio attempts to take man’s dog in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – One person was hit in the head after his dog was almost stolen on Wednesday afternoon. 

Officials say two men and a woman approached the victim in the parking lot at 756 South 200 East. and stole the victim’s dog. 

The victim yelled and caught the attention of a witness who called police. Authorities say the victim and witness continued to follow the suspects. 

At one point, police say the victim was hit on the head with a rock. The dog was eventually retrieved by the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.

No other suspect info has been given at this point.
