Tribal Leaders to discuss key issues on ‘Utah American Indian Caucus Day’

SALT LAKE CITY, (ABC4 News) — In honor of ‘Utah American Indian Caucus Day,’ Governor Gary Herbert and local Native American Tribal Leaders will meet at the Capitol.

Tribal leaders are expected to address the racial challenges they say exist in San Juan County. Leaders are also expected to ask the Governor to support the restoration of ‘Bears Ears National Monument to its originally proposed boundaries of 1.9 million acres.

The meeting will begin Monday at 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the State Office Building Auditorium at the Utah State Capitol.
