Traffic stop leads to SWAT situation in Logan

Local News

LOGAN, Utah (News4Utah) – A barricade situation involving SWAT leads to a lock out of a nearby school…

It happened near 400 East and 450 North in Logan.

Police say Brady Young, 36, got into an argument at his home and left on his motorcycle. When Young was pulled over by an officer for a traffic violation, he ran away.

Police say he went inside an apartment of some people he knew and barricaded himself inside. That’s when swat was called.

“Obtain a search warrant and opening that door and getting in the apartment we were able to see the person we were looking for it appeared he was somewhat unresponsive however upon suggestion that our dog would be deployed he was able to surrender to the police,” said Gary Jensen, Logan City Police Chief.

Police say the school lockout was just a precaution and there was never a threat to students.
