Traffic stop in Idaho nets over $3 million in marijuana

CLARK COUNTY, Idaho (ABC4 News) – An Illinois man was arrested last week after police find over $3 million in marijuana during a traffic stop. 

According to Idaho State Police, Jonathan D. Speckman, 37, of Hainesville, Illinois, was booked into the Clark County jail for drug trafficking on December 15 following a traffic stop on I-15 near Dubois, Idaho, around 7:30 p.m. 

Police said Speckman was stopped for a traffic violation when an ISP K-9 drug dog detected the presence of drugs. 

A search warrant was issued for the pickup and trailer and over 800 lbs. of marijuana was discovered, valued at over $3 million. 

Deputies with the Clark County Sheriff’s Officer assisted police with the investigation.
