TOOELE, Utah (News4Utah) —  A man was booked into Tooele County Jail Wednesday morning after police say he pointed a pistol at an officer.

That officer responded by shooting several rounds at the suspect, but luckily nobody was hit, officials said.

Officers were called to the home near 100 West 860 North around 12:30 a.m. after reports of a domestic assault. Two officers went to the front door and one watched the back door.

Police say the suspect, identified as Chris Ono, tried to run out the back door and pulled out the gun when he saw the officer and the incident unfolded.

Officials with Tooele City Police said Ono is a parolee and was booked on an Adult Parole & probation hold with pending domestic and weapon charges.

The details behind the domestic assault have not been released.

This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they are made available.
