RIVERTON (News4Utah) A young girl was hospitalized Monday evening after police said she fell into a fire pit.

It happened in the area of 12400 South 2500 West in Riverton.

Officials said the little girl suffered third-degree burns to her hands and forearms.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to rush her to the hospital, but police said her injuries are not life-threatening.
