SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – An investigation is underway after two gas stations and a restaurant were robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning. Police agencies are working together to determine if they’re connected.
One of the armed robberies happened at a Shell gas station located at 2100 South 500 East in Salt Lake City.
The clerk told police she noticed a man park his car at pump number three before he got out and robbed the place. She told police that the suspect flashed his gun before he demanded the cash in the register.
According to Salt Lake City Police, the clerk said the suspect was an African American man, about 5’5” with a shaved head.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black jacket, grey shirt and dark pants. The clerk thinks the man took off in a dark grey Ford Focus.
The other robbery happened at a Shell gas station located at 4018 West 4100 South in West Valley City. According to West Valley Police, a man walked in, demanded cash and then took off. Police believe the suspect is a 5’5” Hispanic man in his late 20s.
The clerk told police that the suspect had short black hair, was wearing a black jacket, jeans and a black hat with white lettering.
The other armed robbery happened at a Rancherito’s in Holladay located at 4735 South Highland Drive. According to police, two men walked in, showed their guns to the clerk and demanded cash.
The suspects are described as being Caucasian and darker skinned. Both were wearing black clothes and masks. One of the men had a green backpack.
