Three killed after car crashes into ravine in Herriman identified

HERRIMAN, Utah (News4Utah) – Three men are dead after a car crashed into a ravine in Herriman Saturday.

Lt. Cody Stromberg, Herriman Police, confirmed they received a call from a passerby of a crash around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at 7300 West Herriman Highway (13000 South).

Based on the preliminary investigation, a red 2006 BMW was traveling north on 7300 West when it crossed Herriman Highway, traveled through the field adjacent to the road and off the edge of the ravine. 

Stromberg said the person who called 911 walked down to the scene and saw the three men inside dead.

The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Kevin Becerril of West Valley City, the front passenger was Wilmar Martinez-Gonzalez, 20 also of West Valley City. The backseat passenger has been identified as 18-year-old Luis Martinez-Guerra of Kearns

Police say they all died upon impact.

Investigators say the crash happened several hours before it was noticed, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
