Thousands of student loans forgiven after massive lawsuit

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Nearly 180,000 students have had their student loans forgiven as a result of a settlement between Career Education Corporation and the Department of Commerce.

The Department of Commerce claims that the CEC lied to students about the cost of classes, career placement rates, and transferability of credits.
