SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – When it comes to politics, there appears to be no shortage of satirical material these days. Pat Bagley, Editorial Cartoonist, Salt Lake Tribune joined Inside Utah Politics to talk about the his work.
One of the things Bagley aims to do is make people laugh, but during a sit down interview, he told Chief Political Correspondent Glen Mills, that his work also goes beyond that.
“That’s one of the things that I hope you do, but I also want to persuade you with the cartoon and I also want to inform you. Sometimes I do an issue that is not well-known and in the cartoon I’ll try to present it so people go ‘oh that’s what that’s about,’ ” said Bagley.
During the interview on Inside Utah Politics, Bagley discussed some of his favorite pieces that have been published through the years, how the job of an editorial cartoonist has changed since he started with the Tribune 40 years ago, and more.
