SUMMIT COUNTY (News4Utah)- A Park City teenager involved in the shipment of drugs that left two teens dead has been charged for her involvement in another shipment, police say.

The juvenile is accused of purchasing synthetic controlled substances via the “dark web” and having them shipped to Park City.

Charging documents say Customs and Border Protection agents seized packages in June of this year addressed to the suspect. “The records check of the name revealed that [the juvenile suspect] was involved in an overdose death case in Park City Utah where 2 juveniles died.”

“She admitted during this interview that she had learned how to purchase the substances through the
dark web from friends who had purchased U-44770 [ pink ] and had it delivered to her house in 2016,” documents read.

That shipment is believed to have been behind the overdose deaths of two Park City teens in 2016.

“She is now ordering and receiving additional packages of drugs that have been ordered through the use of the dark web,” court documents state. “Given that the juvenile is continuing to order controlled substances to be delivered into the community, she presents an unreasonable risk to public safety.”

Officials in Summit County issued an alert to the community in July.

The teen is charged with four counts of distribution of a controlled or counterfeit substance. One of those charges is related to the shipment of the 2016 “pink” substance.
