SUNSET, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Authorities in Davis County are investigating a homicide.
Police say a 19-year-old man was shot and killed at 1331 North 400 West in Sunset Tuesday afternoon.
Sunset police say just after 3 p.m., a 17-year-old male suspect entered a residence and started shooting. The victim, identified as Hunter Woodson, suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say the suspect had been back and forth to the home earlier in the day and the incident may have started with a drug-related disagreement.
“For whatever reason when he came back the last time he was upset over something and he walked in the house and started shooting,” said Chief Ken Emorn with Sunset City Police Department.
A 17-year-old female witness was also present at the time of the shooting. She was not injured. She called police with a license plate number for the vehicle. When officers arrived at the suspect’s home in Layton, they found him hiding under a car. Investigators say they also found marijuana and prescription drugs on scene.
Because the suspect is a minor, police have not released his name.
