LEHI, UTAH (ABC4 Utah) The weather was cold, windy and wet, but the cause is one that warm hearts.

On Tuesday, dozens of people hit the links at Thanksgiving Point Golf Course  http://thanksgivingpointgolfcourse.com/ to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association  https://www.mda.org/ with a special focus on ALS or Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

The annual fund raiser was started by Alan Alderman, who was diagnosed with ALS – often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease – fifteen years ago. Since that time the 56-year-old has helped raise thousands of dollars for MDA through the tournament. And has helped educate hundreds of participants on ALS and neuromuscular diseases.

The event was once again sponsored by Wells Fargo Dealer Services and University of Utah Health as well as several other local businesses.
