SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square announced a new musician joining the choir.

Joseph Peeples was appointed as the newest Temple Square Organist after a broad search of applicants.

Temple Square organists are key members of The Tabernacle Choir’s musical staff and are known for their high level of professional organ skills.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Joseph Peeples as Temple Square organist,” said Mack Wilberg, music director of the Choir. “He is a talented musician who will add to the excellent tradition of the Choir family.”

Peeples joins a long line of distinguished musicians who have served as organists on Temple Square, continuing a tradition that stretches back to early pioneer days in Utah. He will begin his service this June.
