UPDATE: Just after noon the standoff came to an end. Officers say the 58-year-old suspect shot and killed himself. He has been identified as Randy Davis.

EAST MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Police and SWAT are on scene in East Millcreek where they say a dangerous man has barricaded himself after assaulting and threatening his wife with a gun.

It’s happening near 3368 Crestwood Drive.

Officials say the wife of the 58-year-old man was able to escape and call for help. When police responded they say the suspect made suicidal/homicidal threats.

They are asking the public to avoid the area.
