SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- Police are looking for a suspect driving a red Ford Ranger after they say an employee of the Ramada Inn on North Temple was assaulted.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday night the employee went out to the parking lot of the hot to ask two men to turn the music down in their truck, a police report from Salt Lake City Police Department said.

A fight broke out between the suspects and the employee and the victim was punched in the face by one of the men, police said.

“The suspect then removed a pistol from his waistband and fired off a round into the air,” officials said.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian male around 5’11” and 175 pounds. Police say the man was wearing dark colored clothing and the red Ranger he was driving had a black rack in the bed of the truck and no license plate.
