Suspect breaks into Family Dollar, takes 3 cases of soda

Local News

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- A man threw a rock through the window of a Family Dollar Thursday morning–all for three cases of soda, according to police.

It happened at 50 North 900 West around 4 a.m.

“The broken door is by far more expensive than the soda pop,” Lt. Cray Croft of Salt Lake Police Department said.

A security company notified police after they were alerted to the broken door. When police arrive the suspect was gone, but surveillance video revealed a male suspect.

Police have not released security pictures or a suspect description.
