SANDY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A man was arrested after he fled from police and tried to hit a police officer in a car with stolen license plates Saturday morning, according to authorities.
The incident happened at 3:57 a.m. when officers from the Unified Police department responded to reports of suspicious activity at #36 East Columbia Avenue.
Officer noticed that a suspicious car had stolen plates on it and tried to stop it. The vehicle fled from police and after a short pursuit was stopped after tire spikes were deployed at 7200 S 400 W.
During the pursuit, officials say 38-year-old Cody Ramseyer tried to hit the officer who had deployed the spike strip.
He was arrested for fleeing and aggravated assault on a police officer, according to authorities.
