MURRAY (News4Utah)- The American Cancer Society is kicking off one of the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer.
The Relay For Life of Murray Park is on Friday, June 8th at 6 p.m. to Saturday, June 9th at 6 a.m.The relay unites communities to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones and take action to finish the fight once or for all.
Individuals and teams will take turns walking or running around a path at the park to remember those who lost their lives to cancer and honor survivors. Teams must have one participant on the track at all times.
This year there will be an opening ceremony to honor cancer survivors and a luminaria ceremony to remember those who have died.
Around midnight there is a special 5K planned for kids and participants. There will be free glow prizes and swag awards to the top male and female finishers. In addition, each partipant will receive a medal and hope sock.
