SALT LAKE CITY, Utah(News4Utah) Subway and the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake City are teaming up for the annual ‘Day of Giving’ today. It’s a day to help those who need it the most. Tracy Redding from Subway, and Chris Croswhite, the Executive Director of Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, joined Andrew Reeser, to talk about the event.

Local Subway® restaurants in the Salt Lake area are providing various resources to homeless and low-income individuals during their annual ‘Day of Giving’ on June 19 starting at 11:30 a.m. at Pioneer Park. The event aims to assist people in need with a free meal, haircut and provide resources for job opportunities.

The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake currently serves more than 830 meals each day. The Rescue Mission impacts many lives in Salt Lake City, giving the homeless community a place to use as their home base to improve their lives.

Local Subway® restaurants aim to provide them with food for one meal in order to help the Rescue Mission provide further support to other programs or to extend the availability of their food services. Volunteers are expected to serve at least 1200 sandwiches to those in need.

If you’d like to help, head down to Pioneer Park at 350 South 300 West in Salt Lake City today from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
