LAYTON, Utah (Good4Utah)- Three teams from North Davis Preparatory Academy in Layton won first place awards at an international science contest.
The contest, called “Science in Action” (Ciencia en Accion), was October 7th through 8th in Ermua, Spain.
The school sent several groups of sixth grade students to Ermua to present their research projects.
“The teams were up against challenging competition from around the world and we are thrilled for their ability to participate in such a great international program,” said Director Ryan Robinson.
Seven of the ten groups were accepted to the final stages. Three of the seven presented in person and the other two groups presented via video conference.
In the end, three teams won first place awards.
“All presentations were done completely in Spanish, showing the high levelof bi-literate proficiency and commitment to the Spanish culture and language at North Davis Preparatory Academy,” school officials said.
North Davis Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free public charter school that has been serving elementary and junior high students in Layton since 2004. Click here to learn more about the school.
