EMERY COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – SR 31 remains closed Sunday after an avalanche in Huntington Canyon covered both lanes of the road.
According to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, the avalanche happened Saturday between milepost 31 and 32, just below Crandall Canyon intersection.
The avalanche is estimated to be about 30 feet wide and between 4 to 6 feet deep.
Utah Department of Transportation said the gates are closed at milepost 33. It is projected to be reopened on Monday afternoon.
