SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News ) – Spiritual leaders from different denominations conducted a multi-faith service and “blessed the hands” of St. Mark’s Hospital caregivers and supporting staff.
This was the 18th annual “Blessing of the hands” ceremony which officials said is a day of healing for healers.
During the event, officials said they recognize caregivers and hospital employees for all they do to promote healing and provide comfort for patients throughout the year.
Spiritual leaders from several faiths including Episcopal, Native American, Jewish, Catholic, Buddhist, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and United Church of Christ officiated the event.
These spiritual leaders also recognized the importance of the ongoing commitment at St. Mark’s Hospital in honoring the role of compassion and spirituality in the healing process for patients and family members.
