SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4 News) – A South Jordan boy who was featured on ABC4 when he received a wish from Mascot Miracles in December has passed away.

The family said Cade Allen, 13, said the boy died on Friday after a battle with hydrocephalus, a condition once called “water on the brain” which is an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain.

ABC4 first brought you the story of Cade back in December when he had made a wish to meet some of his favorite Utah mascots.

With the help of the Mascot Miracles Foundation and the Build-A-Bear Workshop, Cade got to meet his favorite pro Utah mascots and take a special trip to the mall.

Cade also gave a gift to his family: with the help of the Build-A-Bear Workshop, he left each of his family members a toy bear with a recording of his voice.

“We will never forget his voice,” Cade’s mother Melinda Allen told News4Utah. “We will have the opportunity to be hugged and loved by him on a daily basis.”
