Snow creates dangerous road conditions for Monday commute

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Utah) – UDOT warns drivers to prepare for poor road conditions Monday.

UDOT spokesman John Gleason says, “So far it’s been very mild, we’ve gotten off easy this season but this is a good reminder to people to be prepared before you leave to work tomorrow morning.”

He recommends that you check your tires, windshield wipers, and stock your car with extra blankets, food and water in case of emergencies.

Gleason continued, “Far too many time we see the first snowfall is a re-learning period for people to drive in the winter so we want to make sure that everyone is prepared. We see a lot of fender-benders, slide offs that are associated with the first snow and that can really snarl traffic as well as injure people so we want to make sure that everyone is doing all they can to be prepared.”
