UTAH COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A pilot walked away with minor injuries after crashing his plane in shallow waters in Utah Lake Saturday, Utah County sheriff’s office says.

The pilot was attempting a planned landing on an exposed part of the Utah Lake shoreline when a gust of wind pushed the plane causing the wheel to touch the water.

Officials say the pilot could not recover and crashed landed, flipping upside down into shallow waters.

Utah County PD say the pilot sustained minor injuries.
