Sisters in serious condition following Midway ATV accident

Local News

MIDWAY, Utah (News4Utah) – Two little girls were severely injured in an ATV accident over the weekend, prompting family, friends and strangers to aid in their recovery.

According to Karissa McKamey Sutton, the girls’ aunt, Rylinn and Kaizley Oakes were riding in the ATV with their mother, father and sister. The five and four-year-olds were ejected when the ATV rolled.

Both girls were flown to Primary Children’s Hospital, Sutton said. She also said the girls’ mother is 7 months pregnant.

Sutton wrote on a fundraising page Rylinn, 5, fractured the front of her skull. Kaizley, 4, also fractured her skull and suffered severe road rash, Sutton wrote. Monday the family said the girls were stabilizing.

The family has received an outpouring of support from around the world, raising nearly $55,000 in two days on this GoFundMe page. A family friend, Ashley Rizley, also spoke with News4Utah about bracelets being sold in honor of the two girls. The purple and pink bracelets (the girls’ favorite colors) say #RylinnandKaizleyStrong and can be ordered here. The family says 100% of the proceeds from Rizley’s bracelet sales go toward hospital bills.
