UPDATE: Toddler killed in 193 crash

LAYTON, Utah (ABC4) – Layton Police has confirmed a 2-year-old child died last night from injuries sustained in a Monday evening crash.

Layton Police say one car was traveling east on 193 at the Fort Lane intersection where a truck was waiting to make a left turn onto 193, as the car approached the truck pulled out in front.

Police say a 36-year-old woman and 2-year-old were in the car and both were transported to the hospital in critical condition, but the toddler succumbed to injuries Monday night.

The driver of the truck was uninjured however, the passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

LAYTON, Utah (ABC4) – A serious crash in Layton is causing major delays on Highway 193 Monday afternoon.

Police say Highway 193 is closed in both directions near Fort Lane due to a serious crash and are urging drivers to take an alternate route.

Drivers in the area can use Antelope Drive as an alternate route.

Police have not yet released any details about the crash.
