Utah lawmakers are one step closer in their quest to make it easier for Americans to get help and treatment when experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Wednesday a House committee advanced Senator Hatch’s National Suicide Hotline Improvement Act to the full committee for consideration.
The bill asks the FCC to recommend an easy-to-remember, three-digit number for the national suicide prevention hotline.
Senator Hatch called for urgent action.
“Every minute we wait, we leave helpless hundreds of Americans who are struggling with suicidal thoughts. There are literally lives on the line here-and leaving them on hold is not an option.”
