SALT LAKE COUNTY (ABC4 News) – A semi truck hauling large paper rolls rolled over on Bangerter Highway causing its closure for a few hours.
The rollover happened at 2:10 p.m. as a semi was exiting SR- 201 eastbound while turning left unto Bangerter Highway northbound.
Officials say the semi-truck was driving too fast for the diverging-diamond intersection in the area. The truck rolled onto the concrete barrier separating the northbound and southbound traffic as it was trying to transition to the ramp.
No injuries were reported in connection to the crash and no other vehicles were involved, according to authorities.
The northbound traffic on Bangerter Highway was closed at about 5:30 p.m. as wreckers attempted to offload and turn the trailer back up.
Police say the trailer contained large paper rolls, weighing up to 5,000 pounds. A forklift was brought in to move these to a new trailer.
