SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (News4Utah) – A semi truck caught fire early Wednesday morning after it crashed on Interstate 80 in South Salt Lake.
A tractor-trailer hauling frozen food was southbound on I-15 connecting eastbound I-80, according to police. The driver lost control, the tractor-trailer crashed into the right cement barrier and caught on fire.
The driver and co-driver were able to exit the tractor before it became fully engulfed in flames. The tractor is a total loss according to police.
Roads in the area were closed for several hours but re-opened around 1 p.m.
