SALT LAKE COUNTY (News4Utah) – The norovirus continues to spread in school districts around Utah and Salt Lake counties including Alpine and Jordan School Districts.
Canyons School District took steps to stop a potential outbreak in its schools.
The school custodian broke out what’s called an “electrostatic sprayer.” This tool uses hospital grade disinfectant to kill bacteria.
“It’s in self-contained areas, but once it starts it spreads really quickly,” said Todd Muir, a custodial trainer in Canyons School District.
Doctors recommend frequent hand washing and sanitizing of any areas commonly touched. Students who feel ill should stay home from school for 72 hours.
